I have been creating and selling notebooks, journals, and workbooks on Amazon through Kindle Direct Publishing for about a month now. I started with creating a few Halloween notebooks by purchasing some artwork off of Vecteezy to use for the covers, and creating the inside lined paper myself.
While I like the Halloween notebooks I created, I decided that they really didn’t fit my style. Plus, they didn’t speak to my heart. I have found over the years that creating artwork, writing, and other creative endeavors that mean something to me, rather than what is popular, makes me happier in the long run.
My next set of creations reflected that ideal. I created a series of four Tangle Practice Journals. Tangles are based on The Zentangle® Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. “Zentangle” is a registered trademark of Zentangle, Inc. Learn more at zentangle.com.
My next set of workbooks are going to be around worldbuilding, as that is what I’m working on at the moment, though I’m planning on a few lined, unlined, and dotted journals in Wiccan/Pagan themes as well. I’m also planning to use my own drawings and create my own insides for all my future books. Those books seem to sell better than ones I purchase art for covers. Plus, I have more fun creating everything, and it makes them unique. I’m not purchasing a copy if I’m making them myself.
I’m also thinking about making a separate website focused on TPK Journals, but that would be in the future when I have a larger catalog, and am ready to branch out into other ideas. You can find all of my notebooks, journals, and workbooks under my pen name: TPK Journals.
