“Stop letting people who do so little for you control so much of your mind, feelings and emotions” – Will Smith

Will Smith is one of my favorite actors, and this quote of his makes me stop and think about my life in so many ways. There are many people in your life that you need to stop and think about how what you do effects them. Your family, your friends, your boss and co-workers – they are important people in your life and what you do can effect them in many ways depending on what is going on.

BUT

Who else are you trying to please that you really shouldn’t? How often are you trying to please a co-worker over your boss, or your boss over your family? Who in your life is your priority and where is your own well-being in there?

Here’s my piece of advice: Stop worrying about what the world at large cares about. Worry about those in your immediate circle as long as they have your best interest at heart. If they don’t, then only worry about what you care about you.

If you can’t stand up for yourself, who is going to stand up for you?

If you don’t take care of yourself, will you be able to take care of those who are important to you?

Find the people who will help you make a better life for yourself and make them your inner circle. They are the ones who opinions should matter. Not the people who don’t do anything for you or who only tear you down.
